Parent Tips for Week 2: Sky & Stars
Helping children learn about the sky and stars can be a beautiful way to connect their curiosity with faith. Here are some simple tips for parents:
1. Look at the Night Sky Together
Take a few minutes in the evening to step outside and look at the stars with your child. Ask them: “Who created these stars?” This gentle reminder helps children connect everyday wonders with Allah.
2. Use Dhikr During Sky Watching
Encourage your child to say “SubhanAllah” or “MasyaAllah” when they see something amazing in the sky. Make it a habit of turning awe into remembrance.
3. Story Time Reflection
After reading the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) looking at the stars, ask your child:
“What did Prophet Ibrahim learn?” “Who is our true Lord?” This helps build critical thinking in a faith-based way.
4. Craft as a Reminder
When your child finishes their paper star craft, hang it somewhere visible. Every time they see it, remind them: “Allah made the real stars in the sky, and they are even more beautiful.”
5. Encourage Curiosity
If your child asks questions like “Why do stars shine?” or “Where do they go in the morning?” — answer with both science and faith. For example: “Stars shine because Allah gave them light, and in the morning, the sun’s light is stronger so we can’t see them.”
✨ Little moments of wonder can become little seeds of iman. Let’s nurture them together.
